We are a Southern Style Cafe and Private Event Space

Welcome to North Nashville’s newest spot located on Historic Jefferson Street. We curate memorable experiences by providing the best in customer service and anticipating our guests’ needs at all times.

During the day, Yay’s is a place where you can not only eat southern-inspired food that your Grandma would approve of but also a great place to meet with friends, do some work, or just relax and let your creative juices flow.

We are also the perfect venue for your next dinner party, family function, business event, cocktail hour, and much more.

Inspired by the History of Jefferson Street

Yay Yay’s On Jefferson was opened with a focus on honoring Southern Black American culture and celebrating Jefferson Street’s indelible mark on Nashville.

The Cafe and Event Space physically connect the business to its roots and history of Jefferson Street’s commercial corridor, an area that was once the thoroughfare for Black culture and commerce in Nashville, now serving as the location for this culinary venture.

The Mural

In the fall of 2021, Yay Yay's commissioned local Tennessee artist Cora Green to create a mural that captured the history of Jefferson Street. It quickly became a tradition to take a photo in front of The Mural when visiting Yay's. The Mural is a life-size image of two African American women looking at photos of the past that represent the true history of Music City.

The caption reads: We Are The Food | We Are The Music | We Are The Culture | We Are Nashville.
